For starters: what is a Capsule Wardrobe?
A capsule wardrobe is a curated collection of essential clothing items that are versatile, timeless, and can be mixed and matched to create various outfits for different occasions. The concept emphasizes quality over quantity, focusing on investing in well-made pieces that are durable and can withstand multiple wears.
Typically, a capsule wardrobe consists of a limited number of items, often around 20 to 30 pieces, including tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and shoes, chosen to reflect the wearer's personal style and lifestyle needs.
The goal of a capsule wardrobe is to streamline one's closet, reduce clutter, simplify the process of getting dressed, and encourage mindful consumption by prioritizing items that are both stylish and functional.

The Base Outfit.
The reason a capsule wardrobe comes in handy is because it offers you a variation of basics that you can wear multiple ways. A good base outfit is key for creating different looks and with a capsule wardrobe you have a variety of base outfits to choose from.
Here are some examples of some base outfits:
A base outfit can be any two things like a t-shirt and jeans (or one thing like a dress) and from there you can accessorize the look, add shoes and maybe a layer. The type of shoe and layered look can change the outfit to be whatever kind of vibe you are going for.
Here are the same base outfits again but I switched up the tops and bottoms to show you all of the versatility a solid set of wardrobe basics can provide. It truly makes getting dressed so much easier and you never feel like you have nothing to wear!
